Restricting the Structure display through Roles Authorizations.
Business need and the Objective
In an enterprise, the mapping /structuring of assets (as Functional Locations & Equipments) is generally done as per the process flow. The structure is nothing but the Asset tree, how the assets are installed in the shop-floor. We know this structure is seen through IH01, which we can say the gateway to SAP-Plant maintenance.
Agencies with different expertise are usually involved in the upkeep/maintenance of these assets such as
-Mechanical Maintenance
-Electrical Maintenance
-Instrumentation & Automation
-Hydraulics & Lubrication
-Utilities like Air-conditioning, Water Supply, Gas Supply etc.
All these agencies record their jobs through Notifications and Maintenance Orders on their respective equipments
of this Equipment tree (Structure).
Example:
Furnace
|
Pusher1
|
Mechanism
Pusher Motor
Pusher Motor Controls
Furnace Cooling system
Gas supply system
Pusher2
|
Mechanism
Pusher Motor
Pusher Motor Controls
Furnace Cooling system
Airconditioning
In the structure shown above if we want to customize the IH01 display to respective agencies so that these agencies will be able to see their respective machines only, then this can be accomplishes as per the procedure explained in this document.
For Electrical Agency, the result would be:
Furnace
|
Pusher1
|
Pusher Motor
Pusher Motor Controls
Pusher2
|
Pusher Motor
Pusher Motor Controls
How is it done?
Let us consider a sample structure shown below. (IH01 with 'ABC' F/Locn value)
Now suppose the Equipment to Agency relation in each branch (Pusher) is as under:
First two equipments | Mechanical | User1 |
Next two equipments | Electrical | User2 |
Fifth Equipment | Instrumentation | User3 |
Sixth Equipment | Airconditioning | User4 |
As said before the objective is to restrict the display to their respective equipment.
Create Authorization Groups as under in SPRO
Now go to ‘Change Equipment Master’ (IE02) of each of these equipments, give the respective authorization group values and save, as shown below.
Then
Create 4 Roles (One each for these 4 agencies) through PFCG or modify existing Roles as under:
Shown below is the role for AGR1 Mechanical Maintenance Agency
Assign these Roles to the respective Users.
Now when the user1 (Mechanical) goes to the Structure (IH01) the following is the tree he will be seeing.
Similarly, when the user2 (Electrical) goes to the Structure, he will be seeing…
….. So on for other users.
Hope this knowledge piece helps the members.
Thank you.
